5 ‘Prince Wicked’ stars!
One Exquisite Touch is book #2 in The Extravagant Series by Lauren Blakely. WHEW this book was way more than I expected! It is sexy, racy, delicious but also touches on the emotional side too. I loved it. Sage Carmichael is Ivy’s twin whom we met in One Night Only. She is the co-CEO of The Extravagant, a premier Hotel on the Vegas Strip. Sage is poised to perfection all the time. She works very hard and rarely steps out of her comfort zone. She is immaculately dressed always. Her heart was recently bruised by a public heartbreak with her ex and matters of the heart are off limits to her as she never wants to feel that kind of shame again. She is however ready for some after dark fun and she and her best friend, Eliza attend a sexy Masquerade where she meets two mysterious men and has quite the tryst with them. Her time with them was far too short and she cannot get them off her mind. Cole Donovan is the newest hotelier on the Vegas Strip. He owns The Invitation and he is also the competition. He is smart, career focused, motivated, hardworking and highly successful. He is also one of the men behind the mask from the Masquerade the night before. Immediately he becomes forbidden and Sage tries hard to resist him but soon she gives in and wow these were some of those most explosive, steamiest scenes I have ever read. I loved the connection and scorching hot chemistry between Sage are her Prince Wicked. There were a few side characters in this story that I absolutely loved too. One is Sage’s best friend, Eliza. She was SO supportive and encouraging to her. I want to know more about her and her mysterious man though. Her story does not seem finished so I hope that means we will get her story at a later point in the series. This series has it all. It has all kinds of steamy and dirty scenes but is also filled with just as many sweet and tender moments too. This is a top read of 2020 for me! The story is highly addicting and I could not put it down from start to finish. Highly recommend!

These two incredible souls have come together and found something so unique with one another it is hard to put into words. For some reason I have always shied away from paranormal and fantasy romance so I really didn’t know what to expect going into this but I can confirm with 100 percent certainty that I am a huge fan now. Nicole’s writing is poetic and throughly thought out and plotted and I have no doubt that this series is going to be a top seller in this genre. Her scenes are so descriptive she makes you feel like you are in the story with the characters, living and breathing with them. This is a reading experience like no other. The passion and emotion in the author’s words just pours off the pages. I was utterly captivated. It is dark, gritty, intense, emotional and ALL THE FEELS. Cannot recommend it enough!

Of course as always the book is full of their signature humour but there was also a very sweet emotional side to this book that I was not expecting. The story line was creative and gave me modern day Romeo and Juliet vibes. The Ericksons and Andrews are rival families. Each own a bagel shop in town and their businesses are highly competitive. Seth is the absolute star of this book. #sethismyfav I could not get enough of his witty banter and jokes. He is the friend in the group that is always the life of the party and puts everyone in good mood the moment he enters a room. His charm is intoxicating and addicting. He is also sweet and hardworking and a talented photographer. I loved Evan just as much as Seth. Thinking back to when I was reading Rival Roomies and how any mention of Evan Seth would react and I was eager to get to know them more. What made this such a fun read was the moment that Seth and Evan decide to disguise themselves in a fake relationship in order to win their families a spot on a popular cooking show on the Food Channel. The chemistry between Seth and Evan is undeniable. The two have had a thing for one another much longer than either are willing to admit and I loved the development of their relationship. One thing that I love about this series is the comrade between all the friends. The Rooftop Crew are a family themselves and accept newcomers as their own. There is never a dull moment and they live to give each other a hard time but deep down it’s in a loving way as family does. This book has it all and was everything I needed. It is filled with crazy family drama and hilarious banter. The story is a sweet and steamy rom-com with a ton feels and is a must read in the series. I cannot wait for more. Knox’s book is next in the The Do-Over.

Everything I love in my romance reads. Reggie and Nathan’s story is book #10 but can be read as standalone. Nathan and Reggie have been rivals since they were young. On the same softball team growing up and they always had to one up each other. From a young age they were both fiercely competitive with each other. A total love/hate relationship for most of their lives. Now that Nathan has moved from baseball star to SWAT he finds himself in a jam and needs to call upon Reggie for a bit of help. It is very apparent that these two have scorching hot chemistry. There is this fine line between love and hate and they play on that line and it made the story so addicted and unable to put down. Both characters are bullheaded, strong and stubborn. They have loved each other since they were teenagers but of course neither would admit to the other and now they have the chance and they still won't. I need some push and pull in my romance reads but this couple took it to a whole other level. Other than that I adored this one and highly recommend it!

I can’t get enough of the Bishop family. They are protective and loving and also hilarious, fun and hard working. Maize cooks and bakes for the family’s bed and breakfast. She has been burned by love in the past so she is not interested in anything long term. She has a one night stand with a sexy cowboy, Gavin whom is new in town but he leaves town never expecting him to return. All that changes when a few months later he is back and working on the Bishop Ranch. Gavin is an ex-bull rider and has just retired from the rodeo circuit. He is looking to settle down. He is gorgeous inside and out and a total sweetheart. He is pure cowboy and has all the charm you would expect from a Southern Gentlemen. There were moments when Maize completely frustrated me with her stubbornness but she is a Bishop after all so I suppose I should have expected it. I just wish she would have given into Gavin a little sooner. She really made him work for her attention and affection. The two had some seriously intense chemistry though! It is addicting and steamy. I say it during every KF review but it bares repeating this series is one of my all times favourites and this author duo does not disappoint with writing a combination of a steamy, sexy and swoon-worthy story. If you love a little bit of angst, small towns and sexy cowboys you NEED to pick this one up.

In the beginning she watched from afar as he serenades her. Little does she know that will soon turn into so much more and the passion he brings into her life she could never have been prepared for. Montgomery Logan is a beautiful man. Charged by his love for music and life. The moment he sees Lottie he sees in her eyes sadness and pain and he sees the effect his music has on her and he wants to feed her soul with it always making sure he was there for her. Logan is a gorgeous man. Hugely protective but also has a quiet softer side that I loved. Logan gave so much to Lottie. He restored her is so many ways. He made her feel adored and cherished. I was immediately captured by this story. I read it one sitting and could not put it down. The emotional connection between Logan and Lottie is so different and difficult to put into words. They make you feel so much. The book is perfectly titled as it most definitely pulled at all my heartstrings! This book is so worth the read and I highly recommend you pick it up and find out for yourself. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Muses and Melodies by Rebecca Yarros is the 3rd and final book in the Hush Note Series. I knew from what we learned of Nixon in Lies & Lullabies, and Rifts and Refrains that his story was going to be a story that would destroy me! The level of emotional and feels within this story is signature Rebecca Yarros and I devoured it in one sitting. This book in my opinion is the BEST of the series! I liked the previous two books but this one I LOVED whole heartedly. Nixon is a broken man. He has so many demons and complexities about him and when I first picked this up I couldn’t wait to break them all down. Nixon has the full bad boy rocker vibe going on but he is masking a painful past with all his drugs, alcohol and sex. He was so hard on himself at times and my heart broke from him so many times! Zoe is the assistant to the band’s manager and she has been tasked with babysitting Nixon after a stint in rehab to ensure he stays on the straight and narrow. There was a ton of chemistry between these two. Nixon loved to get under Zoe’s skin but she could also dish it back just as good. I loved their comrade and banter. I just couldn’t get enough of them. Zoe is spark, and sass. She is confident, intelligent and professional and exactly the type of woman Nixon needed in his life during a tough time. The connection between Nixon and Zoe was so beautiful. There were so many incredible scenes. I lost count how many times I had big fat tears rolling down my cheeks. This story is raw, real and beautiful. It is about second chances, redemption and healing and I adored how everything was wrapped up in the end. I loved the epilogue and how all the characters stories were tied up.
