My Cone and Only by Susannah Nix is a sweet small town, brother's best friend romance. There is so much to love about this story. Wyatt is in love with his best friend's sister. He has been since high school. He has sworn to himself that he will never admit his feelings, and will stay forever a bachelor until a series of events unfolds and the two are forced to face their feelings head on. In the first half of the book there were times when I wanted to smack Wyatt upside the head for his stupidity and stubbornness! I was borderline frustrated with him UNTIL the moment he and Andie connect physically it is an absolute game changer! There was always an emotional connection between them being that they’ve been friends for a very long time but the moment you add in intimacy and passion, they were pure magic and unstoppable.

I loved the progression of Andie and Wyatt’s relationship as they go from friends to lovers. Wyatt had a real dilemma on his hands figuring out when to confess his feelings to Andie’s brother Josh and my heart was flipping waiting for him to drop that inevitable bomb!

The book is jammed back with laughter, swoon and charm. I was fully invested from the beginning to end. Susannah Nix is a new to me author and I am so glad a took a chance on her books!! I am looking forward to more in the King family to come!

The audiobook narrated by Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling was done flawlessly. I loved these narrators together. Chris voices Wyatt's character with beautiful emotion and passion. I can never get enough of his sexy southern rasp. Amanda’s portrayal of Andie was fantastic as well. She showcased many sides of her voice and I especially loved her sweet, sultry sound and her fierce and powerful delivery. So well done!

Of all the Taylor brothers, I knew from the moment I started this series that Gus was going to be my favourite and I was not wrong! Gus is the life of the party. He is a shameless flirt, full of witty banter, confidence, charm and sex appeal and it was impossible not to fall hard for him! I have been waiting to ‘meet’ the woman that would come along and finally tame his flirty playboy ways and Susannah could not have been more perfect! 

Susannah is Gus’ new neighbour and from the moment they meet there is some pretty intense sparks but she sees right through Gus’ charms and is determined to resist him and oh boy does she make him work for her affection! Susannah is a successful romance novelist and single mom to Olive. She is strong, hard working and independent.  I loved Olive! She is such a fun, sweet and feisty little girl! Her relationship with Gus was the sweetest. 

I can never get enough of these GD Taylors!! The laughter, swoon and feels are endless from beginning to end! I cannot wait for the Taylor sister, Penelope to get her HEA next in Friends with Benefactors!

Second Chance Vow is an angsty second chance romance that will rip your heart out and slowly put it back together. Kinley and Christian have one of those epic loves. The heartache and pain they go through tore at my heart right from the first page but the journey is well worth the fight. No one writes angst like M. Robinson and she brought that in spades. This book put me through the ringer. I felt ALL the emotions. I laughed, I swooned and cried all the ugly tears.

If you read Julian and Autumn's story in Second Chance Contract (previously titled Alpha CEO) you will have met Christian and Kinley. Christian is Autumn's brother and Julian's best friend.

Christian and Kinley met as teens. They met at a difficult time in Kinsley's life and Christian became her rock. Twenty years later, they have been through some really happy times but some devastating times as well and they are not connecting any longer and are on the brink of divorce, or at least Kinley is but Christian isn’t willing to give up so easily. I loved Christian’s determination to never give up. He is that strong, protective alpha man that is so easy to fall for. Kinley has a sweet soul, but she is carrying emotional scars from her past and upbringing and has always feared losing Christian.

The thing I loved the most about this book is how real and relatable the characters are and what they went through. The way Christian and Kinley grew apart can easily happen. It may not be all hearts and flowers to work through the issues and painful parts of their past, but putting in the work in order to get back to the love the carry deep in their souls for each other was so well written.

Brynne Asher is a new to me author and I am officially OBSESSED! Deathly is a phenomenal story. The writing is addicting, thrilling and so very clever. This is a dark romance with a ton of suspense, angst and twists and turns you will never see coming. I absolutely loved it! From beginning to end I was completely consumed and did not want it to end.

Psychologist Dr. Aria Dillon's world is turned upside down the moment she meets Brand Vitale at a pet rescue charity event and wins a date with the hot fireman. Little did she know what she was really signing up for with that one date.

Brand is mysterious, brooding and all consuming. He had so many layers to him that I was desperate to uncover as I listened. He is dominating and devoted to Aria in the most addicting way and I could not get enough!

There is a huge plot twist that blew my mind and NEVER saw it coming. I LOOOOVE books like this! It left me reeling and totally stunned and I am still not over it!

Joe Arden and Desiree Ketchum were incredible bringing this story to life. This is the side of Joe's voice I wish we got more of. Deliciously dark, and edgier and I freaking loved it. Desiree was fantastic portraying Aria too!There are so many facets to her voice. Her talent just blows my mind. As I listened I felt the emotion, the passion, the danger and suspense in her every word. SO GOOD!!

If you are into dark, suspenseful reads this is the book to pick up. Highly recommend!

Burden by Melissa Ellen is the second book in her Made series. This story is full of action, crime, and drama. It is a thrilling read and one I couldn’t stop until I finished.

Declan is seeking revenge after becoming the head of the Irish mob due to his father’s heinous murder. He trusts no one and will not allow himself to get distracted or allow anyone to get in his way. Until Francesca. She is the one thing he never saw coming and her need to seek answers about her own father lands herself deep into Declan’s world. These two were magnetic! Their intense connection and phenomenal chemistry was addicting. The way Francesca sees through Declan and is able to soften some of his hardness and Declan’s ability to ground Francesca made them the perfect unit and they became unstoppable together. One of my favourite things about a mafia romance is the strong theme of family, loyal and love and this story has this in spades and I highly recommend it. 

Connor Crais' performance blew me away. His ability to tap into the raw emotion of Declan’s character was impressive. Chloe Ryan is a new to me narrator. Her voice aptly portrayed the emotion and complexities of Francesca’s character and these two brought this story to life phenomenally.
