BLURB

I didn't know I was that person. You know - the one who gets the kids. But that's what the will said. June Lawler: legal guardian. All my sister's kids have ever known is San Francisco, but I have to take them back to our family's small-town farm.

The last thing I'm expecting is the dark car rolling down my dirt driveway. The man who steps out of it is as rich as he is rude, and I want nothing to do with him. Even if my traitor body didn't get the message.

***

My little brother was everything to me. Now even his kids are gone. Spirited away to Heat Springs, Georgia - population 298.

They're living on a farm that's on the brink of bank foreclosure with a 26-year-old who didn't finish high school. Nowhereville is not the place for little Mastersons, but I'll get them back.

"June Bug" Lawler is poorer than the red dirt she comes from. It's money she must want, and I've got plenty of that. I've never met a problem that my money couldn't solve. This country girl won't be the first.

REVIEW

4 stars!

Hate You Not by Ella James is an incredible story about two people finding each other in the most unexpected of circumstances.

June is a strong and resilient. Life has handed her not one but two devastating losses and the last one left her the guardian of her sister and brother in law’s children. She adores her niece and nephew and tackles her new role with no hesitation. She moves them from LA to Heat Springs, Georgia to the farm she grew up on. Just as they are settling into a new normal along comes Burke, a new uncle from their dad's side that the children did not know about. Burke is gorgeous, he is wealthy and thinks he can win their affection over with his money. June however is having none of that. Burke is an unexpected surprise for June. Although there are some serious hate to love vibes going on the two soon realize how much they have in common underneath their exerior.

I did not expect to love this one as much as I did. I was surprised by the all the feels this one gave me. Once June and Burke stop fighting their insane attraction to one another, the emotional connection was just as beautiful as the physical one. I couldnt get enough of them.

In listening to the audio version, I could not imagine a better pairing than Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber to portray June and Burke. They both are master performers and really get deep into the emotional side of their roles which was perfect in this story.

NEW RELEASE: The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄!!

“The Wrong Family is your new obsession. It’s full of twists you’ll never see coming and you’ll be breathless until the end. Trust me: you’ve never read anything like this.” –#1 New York Times bestselling author, Colleen Hoover

#1Cʟɪᴄᴋ:

From the author of the instant New York Times bestseller The Wives comes another twisted psychological thriller guaranteed to turn your world upside down.

Have you ever been wrong about someone?

Juno was wrong about Winnie Crouch.

Before moving in with the Crouch family, Juno thought Winnie and her husband, Nigel, had the perfect marriage, the perfect son—the perfect life. Only now that she’s living in their beautiful house, she sees the cracks in the crumbling facade are too deep to ignore.

Still, she isn’t one to judge. After her grim diagnosis, the retired therapist simply wants a place to live out the rest of her days in peace. But that peace is shattered the day Juno overhears a chilling conversation between Winnie and Nigel…

She shouldn’t get involved.

She really shouldn’t.

But this could be her chance to make a few things right.

Because if you thought Juno didn’t have a secret of her own, then you were wrong about her, too.

From the wickedly dark mind of bestselling author Tarryn Fisher, The Wrong Family is a taut new thriller that’s riddled with twists in all the right places.

REVIEW

4 stars!

In usual Tarryn Fisher style this one kept me guessing from beginning to end. In the first half of the story I often felt confused and struggled to stay invested but the second half was complete with twists and turns I could have never been prepared for.

Tarryn is an incredible author. Her thrillers are like nothing you will ever read and for that alone I recommend reading this book.

The book is told in two points of view. Winnie and Juno.

From the outside Winnie appears to be living the perfect life with her husband and son but as the story unfolds we learn that their life is anything but perfection.

Juno is a complicated woman. She has come to live with the Crouch’s and overhears something she just can’t unhear and how the story unfolded from this point on was one twist after the next.

The writing is gripping, thrilling and will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is best read if you go in blind with no spoilers.

REVIEW: Take Me Away by Kelly Elliott

Take Me Away by Kelly Elliott is now live!

To love her is to forget she ever existed in my world.

When I'm not a test pilot flying for the U.S. Air Force, I can be found risking my life in other ways.

Skydiving. No problem.

Bungee jumping off a bridge. Like a pro.

Paragliding in Switzerland. Time of my life.

Zorbing in New Zealand. Fun as hell.

You see...all these life-risking adventures are not just a hobby for me, not just a way to pass the time. I need the adrenaline rush like I need my next breath. I'm addicted to it. It's the only thing that allows me to bury my painful past--even if only for as long as it takes for me to come down from the high. All that matters is that I'm able to forget. And every heart-stopping moment of it was working...at least, until she appeared back in my life.

Both my worst nightmare and my wildest dream all wrapped up in one beautiful woman...a woman I was still very much in love with.

And that's not the worst part...

Linnzi Cunningham has no idea who I am. She has no idea how intertwined our terrible pasts are--and for that, she is lucky.

She doesn't remember the night when everything important in her life, everything that she lived for, was taken from her by the man who promised he would always protect her.

That man was me.

To love her is to forget she ever existed in my world.

REVIEW

5+ stars!

Take Me Away is hands down a favourite book of 2020, it is also my favourite in Kelly Elliott's Southern Bride Series.

This story is incredibly emotional but oh so beautiful. I have never felt so deeply for two characters. From the moment I started this book I could not put it down. I was completely engrossed in their connection and the deep soul searing love story these characters share.

Linnzi and Nolan suffered a terrible loss. A horrific plane crash broke them apart and Linnzi has been blocking out her memories where Nolan has been suffering in silence for 8 years. Linnzi does not remember Nolan but her heart most definitely does and even with 8 years apart neither could move on from the other. My heart ached so much for Nolan and the guilt and pain he suffered. My heart ached for the time they spent apart and the time together again as Linnzi begins to recover her memories.

Kelly Elliott has written one of her best books ever. Contemporary romance lovers that want all the feels you need to pick up this book ASAP. 5 stars is not enough for this incredible story. These characters and their story will stay with me for a long time to come.

Blurb:

A sexy best friend's brother romance from bestselling authors Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente! I'm the wrong guy for her. She's sunshine and cherry pie. I'm whiskey and fast cars. I'm also keeping one hell of a secret from the woman I've wanted for years. But when I find a list my sister left behind for Ruby, I've got no choice but to offer the sexy, big-hearted girl next door both a road trip and a chance. A chance to discover how big she can dream. And if some of those dreams play out in the bedroom? Well, there’s nothing wrong with a few -- okay, several -- hot nights together as we hit the beach, visit old stomping grounds, and test all sorts of limits, in and out of the sheets. Seven days, then I'm off, moving across the country, far away from her. No way can things get complicated in a week. Ruby and I aren’t the kind of dream that has a shot of coming true. Especially once she learns what I’ve done. GOOD WITH HIS HANDS is a sexy standalone romance in the Good in Bed series!

 REVIEW

4 stars!

It is undeniable that Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente are a dynamic writing duo. I love their similar styles. Both write steamy, funny, romantic stories and Good with his Hands had all of that with an emotional component as well.

After a tragic accident, Ruby is recovering and learning to heal. She has completed her physical therapy and it is time to turn over a new leaf and overcome some of the things that are holding her back in life. Enter Jesse, her best friends brother. He has given her a to-do list of sorts and he is vowing to help her tackle the list and become once again the vibrant woman she has always been.

Jesse owns a garage in Brooklyn, New York but is packing up to move across country to LA in two weeks. Jesse is rugged and handsome and Ruby has crushed on him since she was a teenager. As the two embark on this journey together things are getting complicated quickly as their attraction to one another cannot be ignored and time is running out.

I loved Jesse and Ruby's friendship.  He is encouraging, and supportive and pushes Ruby to trust her heart and take chances. I adored their flirty banter and amazing chemistry. I also loved Ruby's strength and determination. Together they bring the best out in each other.

I am looking forward to Ruby's cousin, Gigi's book next in Good To Be Bad, coming in May 2021.

REVIEW: Blame it on the Champagne by Fiona Cole

Blame It On the Champagne by Fiona Cole is now live!

There's only one thing to do when you wake up, married to your brand new boss, whom you hate but can't resist: You blame the champagne.

I blame the bubbles for my wild night with a masked stranger.

Who cares if it's nothing this good girl would normally do--with a man that turns out to be my horrible boss?

Who cares that I'm promised to someone else?

I blame the alcohol for agreeing to marry him.

As long as my new husband keeps his mouth shut, I can survive five years of our little arrangement. It's too late for anything else.

But our impromptu wedding leads to so much more than I bargained for. His dirty promises warm me. His kisses make me lightheaded. His respect slips past my best defenses. The hate turns to friendship, and makes me dream of more. He's like the most dangerous kind of champagne.

That's why I blame him for making me fall in love with him.

But when I find out our marriage was nothing more than revenge, what's to blame for my broken heart?

REVIEW

4.5 stars!

Blame it on the Champagne is such a fun, sexy, entertaining read. I could not put it down from beginning to end. It is an enemies to lovers story/marriage of convenience with a twist and I absolutely loved it.

Vera is an amazing character. I admired her confidence, sass, determination and fierce personality. She has just returned home from College and is determined to prove to her family that she is ready for the working world now that she has a degree. Unfortunately for Vera she is resisted at every turn and her father isn’t backing down from his insistence that she become a trophy wife to the new CFO of his company. However, Vera isn’t having any of it and goes behind his back to work for the competition.

Nico is arrogant and sexy. He is also demanding and all kinds of delicious! I was drawn to him immediately and was obsessed at every turn of the page at learning more about him. There were a lot of layers to him but underneath his hard exterior is a compassionate man with a big heart. There were times when his actions and choices completely frustrated me and the angst was off the charts as I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure how it would all play out.

Nobody writes angsty, steamy sex scenes like Fiona Cole! I was ready to get my fire extinguisher out for some of those scenes! Holy hotness. The intensity and raw passion between Nico and Vera was addicting and I couldn’t get enough.

I loved Vera’s besties, Raelynn and Nova. These ladies are like sisters. I adored their supportive nature and they were Vera’s constant cheerleaders while she learned to manage a new job, a cranky but irresistible new boss and controlling father.  I cannot wait to learn more about them when we get their stories next.

REVIEW: Floored by Karla Sorensen

Title: Floored
Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: December 9, 2020
Cover Design: Najla Qamber Designs

If you've ever had a steamy one-night stand with a British football player and then find yourself pregnant with his baby, you know how Lia Ward feels.

To be fair, Lia didn't know who Jude McAllister was when they met.

Studying abroad for her master's program, all she knows is that she's a little lonely and he's very charming, even as they have an epically sexy argument about which type of football is superior.

In Jude's mind, shagging the feisty American girl is exactly what he needs. He’s been fighting the clock of his long-standing football career and the younger players primed to take his position. Proving that he can feel like his old self again—something he's been trying to do with everyone in his life—should be easier after blowing off steam with Lia.

But oh baby, when a plus sign pops up on Lia's pregnancy test, that 'one night' becomes a whole lot more.

Now Lia and Jude have to navigate their impossible-to-ignore chemistry, and prepare for the parenting game, something neither of them know how to play.

"All the English countryside stars for this awesomeness. It’s getting one of my rare 6 stars... I’ve read over 400 books this year and have only given 8 x 6 stars so that tells you just how much I loved this book!!" - Claypot Reads
"Karla Sorensen nailed the angsty and steamy feels once again in Floored. This unique sports romance was full of intense emotions and all consuming romance goodness. She never fails to bring out the best and the worst in me with her brilliant writing." (PP’s Bookshelf)
“Karla Sorensen delivers on all the things I love the best: the chemistry, the banter, the sweet steady burn that holds my heart in thrall and keeps my greedy little reader heart hungry for more. Floored delivered on all those things and more!” (Jennifer, Goodreads Review)

REVIEW

5 stars!

Oh how I loved Jude and Lia’s story! I cannot get enough of the Ward sisters and this story drew me in from the very first page. The chemistry and connection between Lia and Jude was magnetic and instant. Starting with their flirty banter and playful jabs to their sexy hookup that ends up in an accidental pregnancy.

Lia is an American college graduate that has just accepted a rare opportunity to study at Oxford University in England for one semester in their English Literature Program. Being so far away from her huge family she is feeling slightly out of place and lonelier than she expected. There is so much I loved about Lia. She is beautiful, passionate, smart and has a bold, fierce attitude. I love all the Wards but the special connection she has with her twin sister, Claire I adored.

Jude is a professional footballer. He is gorgeous, funny and has the sweetest heart. I LOVED him and he was the perfect man for Lia. When it comes to his family he is the complete opposite of Lia and was slightly overwhelmed by the Wards. His parents have caused some real emotional scars and my heart squeezed for him and the pain he carries because of them.

The Ward family hold a special place in my heart and just when I think I can’t love them anymore they rally and provide nothing but unconditional, loving support.

Although there were many bumps in the road, the journey Lia and Jude travel was beautiful and written perfectly for them. Karla has delivered another phenomenal story that gave me all the feels. I adore the heart and passion that she pours into her stories and this one was no exception.

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.
