“I’ll take them!” That’s what I tell the social worker when my pre-k student and his baby brother need an emergency foster placement. I’ll do anything to keep the brothers from being split up. But my apartment’s flooded and there’s only one house I can take them to on such short notice…his. Knox Daniels, my older brother’s best friend, offers his new place without hesitation. He’s not moving back to our tiny town until next month—that’s when all our hotshot firefighters are returning for their one and only chance to rebuild our fathers’ fallen, iconic crew. It doesn’t matter that I’ve been silently in love with Knox since we were kids. It can’t matter that we pretend that reckless prom night kiss never happened. It won’t matter that my feelings for him could destroy his lifelong friendship with my brother and threaten the certification of their hotshot crew. Because I’ll be out of his house long before he gets back. Except Knox just walked in…a month early. And the icing on this awkward cake? He’s gorgeous as always and I’m covered in baby puke. He takes one look at the boys and tells me we can make this work— We can temporarily fake a relationship to keep them from being separated by the system. Suddenly, everything matters.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If firefighters, adorable children, brothers best friend and small town romance tropes are your thing, you NEED this book in your life!

Reason to Believe is such a phenomenal read!  Knox and Harper's story is beautiful, heart warming and gave me all the feels!  Harper and Knox's chemistry from the moment they were introduced in the prologue was  combustible! The first kiss they share as teenagers was so full of emotion and heat I was salivating for more!

In present day, Harper is now a teacher and two of her kiddos are in need of a foster parent. Having the huge heart she does, and because of her own experiences with a death of a parent, Harper volunteers. Her apartment is too small and she ends up staying with them at Knox's newly built home. Things get interesting when Knox arrives home earlier than expected and the two begin a co-habitation/parenting arrangement that neither were prepared for.

Knox absolutely broke my heart. He adores and loves Harper SO much, but has forced himself to stay away from her for years. He thinks she deserves better than him, and has been constantly warned off of her by her brother, and his best friend, Ryker. Knox's devotion to Harper was so heartwarming. She has no idea, and thinks her feelings for him are unrequited. Now that they are finding themselves in close quarters, Knox's rule for himself is to always stay five feet apart from Harper and that is becoming impossible. I could not get enough of their connection. The passion, the pull, the angst, the chemistry, and love betweem them is unmatched, and I loved the slow build and development into more. The emotions I experienced while reading this book, is so hard to put into words. You must experience them for youself.

REVIEW - Code Name: Revenge by Sawyer Bennett

 Code Name: Revenge
(Jameson Force Security, Book 9)

By: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: April 19, 2022

Synopsis

When Kynan McGrath approached me about joining Jameson Force Security, I jumped at the chance. Just call me Dozer Burney, one half of the genius duo who keeps the team at the forefront of security technology. The move from NASA to Jameson also put me back on the east coast, closer to those who mean the most to me.

Jessica Anderson has been my best friend since college. A single mom who found herself mixed up with a dangerous man years ago, she’s been living a safe, quiet life in Miami after helping police put him behind bars. We both knew her safety, and that of her daughter, was reliant on him staying locked up. So when I see an alert that he’s escaped from his maximum security prison, I know where he’s heading to exact his revenge.

Now it’s a race against time to get to Jessica before he does.

Protecting her with my life is easy, because there’s one thing I’ve never admitted to anyone, not even myself—I have been in love with Jessica Anderson since the day I met her. And if we both make it out alive, I’ll make sure she knows it every day for the rest of our lives.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Code Name: Revenge is the ninth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Jameson Force Security Series. I have been looking forward to Dozer's story since he was introduced as Bebe's sidekick and his story did not disappoint. This is a steamy, friends to lovers, romantic suspense story that I devoured in one sitting.

Dozer is the computer tech genius at Jameson Force Security, and is passionate about his work. He is loyal and protective. The moment he learns his best friend, Jessica and her daughter, Thea are in danger he does not hesitate to jump into the field to do whatever he has to, to keep them safe. Dozer has been in love with Jess for many years, although he would never admit it as their timing just did not seem to match up. However seeing the danger that Jess is in, has put things into perspective for him. Jess is a devoted single mom. She is strong and brave and she did not hesitate to jump into the line of fire if it meant keeping herself, and her daughter safe.

As with every book in this series, I really enjoy the cohesiveness of the Jameson team have with one another. They are a family through and through. I love how they never hesitate to come together as team when needed. I really loved seeing more of Dozer and Bebe’s friendship in this book. They truly have each other’s backs, no questions asked.

I loved the introduction of newcomer, Kellen and his K9 Omega. I am looking forward to his story next.

BLURB

USA Today best-selling author Leslie Pike delivers a delightful romance centering on an athlete and the object of his affection—a single mother.

Memphis Mavericks catcher Atticus Swift has game. On the field and off. Things and people come easy to the baseball player.

Then why is the woman across the room ignoring him?

Single mother Charlotte Bay is one-minded. Her focus is on her daughter, Mallory, who bears emotional and physical scars of the past.

Love, romance, or even male attention is not on the radar.

Sometimes life throws you a perfect curveball.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐

“She’s the curve ball I wasn’t expecting. One pitched so skillfully I didn’t see it until it already changed the game.”

The Curve is a sweet and sexy sports romance by Leslie Pike that I devoured in one sitting. The story and characters captivated me from the first chapter. Atticus is confident, sexy and strong and Charlotte is a devoted single mom. The moment Atticus meets Charlotte, he knows what he wants, and he goes after it. I love how hard and fast he falls for her and her daughter Mallory. Atticus’ approach with Mallory was tender and sweet. I loved the special connection they form, so honest and caring. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are always fantastic together. The emotion and passion they bring to each and every story they narrate is perfection, and The Curve was no exception!

REVIEW: Always Mine by Laura Pavlov

Always Mine by Laura Pavlov is now live!

He fights fires for a living, but the flames building between us may be too big to extinguish.

Niko West is the most beautiful man I've ever laid eyes on.

Six feet, four inches of broody, chiseled Greek god in a firefighter suit.

He's also been my best friend since kindergarten.

He always says the only solid thing in his life is our friendship.

He's Honey Mountain's favorite player and I'm what you'd call a relationship girl.

But when I find myself single for the first time since turning sixteen, I make Niko an offer he can't refuse.

Who better to show me what I've been missing?

But now that we've crossed that line, I don't know if friendship is enough for me.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5 Honey Bee stars!

I absolutely adored Laura Pavlov’s introduction to her new Honey Mountain Series. Laura is QUEEN at writing emotional, heartfelt, small town romance and Always Mine was no exception!

Vivian Thomas, and Niko West have been best friends since kindergarten. They have been with each other through some tough times growing up, always holding one another up but never allowed themselves to take it any further. Up until now Niko is not the commitment type. He has some traumatic, emotional scars from his childhood, and he would never allow himself more. Now that Vivian is recently single he is seeing her in a way he never allowed himself to in the past, and he cannot let the opportunity for more with her pass him by. These characters were all consuming! I loved their chemistry and devotion to one another, it was effortless the way they loved one other, and so beautiful to watch unfold as they realize they were always meant to more than friends.

I loved everything about small town romance, and the way Laura describes Honey Mountain is beautiful. The scenery, the mountains and lakes are breathtaking and so vividly depicted.

Vivian is one of five sisters. I loved getting to know the entire Thomas family and individual characteristics about each sister. These sisters are a supportive, close group and always have each others backs. Dylan was my favourite! She is bold and sassy and I am already salivating for her story, and who Laura will pair her with. But next up is Everly in Ever Mine and I am eager to learn more about her backstory with her beau. I am truly invested and cannot wait for more in this series to come.

About the Book

It’s not every day that you see a dead body at the beach. Or the woman of your dreams sitting next to that dead body.

Price Crow first saw Sabrina Proctor in the middle of a hurricane.

She’d been sitting next to her dead best friend, who’d passed away on the beach, with no way to get her back home, thanks to the world’s worst luck, and one hell of a storm.

So Price does what any decent person would do: he carries Sabrina’s dead best friend to their beach house and doesn’t leave her side until he’s forced to.

He had every intention of bridging that gap, of checking up on her and making sure she was okay, but life is funny and has a way of making a mockery of the best-laid plans.

Despite one hell of a connection, under the worst of circumstances, they go their separate ways. At least, he tries to. But he can’t stop thinking about her, and it becomes apparent, very fast, that he has a decision to make.

Choose Sabrina or live out the rest of his life making everyone else around him happy except for himself.

Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rattle Some Cages is the third book in Lani Lynn Vale's Battle Crows MC Series. Sabrina and Price's story is an emotional roller coaster! Their story had me feeling so much right from the first chapter. The beginning was sad, but as soon as Price enters Sabrina's life, things for her would never be the same and their love story begins.

As with all of Lani's books there is so much humor and heart with this one, it is an addicting read from start to finish. I didn't want to put it down. I fell so hard for Crow family. There is plenty of drama, action and some obstacles to overcome but I never doubted that this couple was meant to be.

I loved Sabrina's strength. It takes her some time to get there, but with Price's love and support she really comes into her own. Price is a protector, and extremely loyal. Together they share a unique connection, full of undeniable chemistry and fire. I was routing for them the whole time.

I love Lani Lynn Vale's writing. Her characters have so many layers to them, and I cannot wait to unravel them all. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Not a Role Model, coming in May.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Tutoring the Player by Rebecca Jenshak

Tutoring the Player (Campus Wallflowers #1) by Rebecca Jenshak

Narrated by Lee Samuels, Emma Wilder

https://adbl.co/3xCRxKx

Blurb

A sexy opposites attract stand-alone novel from USA Today best-selling author Rebecca Jenshak.

I have a type. I love the good guy. Responsible and stable. Safe. So when a beer-drinking, quick-witted, tattooed hockey player asks me to tutor him, I'm suddenly thrust into the world of bad boys and bad decisions.

Jordan is a renowned player on campus. He doesn’t take anything seriously, except hockey and partying. But he gives me butterflies.

I’m a wallflower tutoring Valley University’s hottest player.

Review

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Tutoring the Player is a sweet, and swoony college sports romance by Rebecca Jenshak that I devoured in one sitting. Daisy and Jordan have such fantastic chemistry. They are complete opposites, but they worked together so well. She is the quiet smart girl, and he the hot jock. I was completely drawn to their flirty banter, and steamy chemistry right from the beginning. What is different about this book is that initially the object of Daisy’s affection was a completely different guy and Jordan takes her by absolute surprise. Daisy and Jordan develop a really sweet friendship first and the more time they spent together the more their feelings grew. I loved the development and pacing of their story. It is not rushed nor too slow and I was invested from beginning to end. There is something abut the good girl/jock dynamic that is so entertaining, and I just loved them. If you are looking for a sweet college/sports romance, with low angst and a lighter theme this is the book to check out. I listened to audiobook narrated by Lee Samuels and Emma Wilder. I throughly enjoyed their performances. Emma’s voice is sweet and sultry and Lee’s commanding and powerful. Their voices were perfect for bringing life to these characters.

REVIEW: Show Me Forever by Layla Hagen

Release Date: April 12

I moved to Chicago six months ago, determined to finally open my own bakery. My landlady was this sweet woman who treated me like her granddaughter.
Then she sold the house. Now the devil himself is my landlord and neighbor since I live in the guesthouse on his property. Declan Maxwell is moody, unreasonable, and takes himself far too seriously. Unfortunately for me, he’s also damn sexy.

When he shows up on my doorstep in the middle of the night ordering me to turn down the music, I give him hell. Secretly, I’m also checking him out. We go toe to toe like this almost every night.
The man is impossible. But here’s the thing. I need a place to stay while I save for my business and this place is a steal. So, I need to put up with this handsome devil, though from a distance—because he’s far too gorgeous.

Then one day I come home injured from work and he surprises me by taking care of me.
And kissing me.
And just like that, all my best intentions go up in smoke.

Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Show Me Forever is the third book in Layla Hagen's Maxwell Brothers series. This is the oldest brother, Declan's story. Declan is the lawyer in the family. He is super serious and hard working with a big heart underneath.

Liz has just moved to Chicago with the dream of opening up her own bakery. She is working multiple jobs to earn the cash to make her dream come true. The only thing she wants to do at the end of her day is to play music loud, and dance it out as a way to distress. Declan is Liz's landlord and she rents a guest house from him. As Declan is preparing to ream Liz out for blasting her music so loud, he watches her dancing, and sees a different side to her and one he is very attracted to.

The grumpy/sunshine trope is one of my top favourite tropes to read in romance. I loved how Liz calmed Declan's grumpy attitude with her happy sunny personality. They have fantastic chemistry and so much heat between them. Liz fit in perfectly with the Maxwell clan.

This is a heartwarming, low angst, feel good love story that in the end will leave you with a smile on your face. I am looking forward to Luke Maxwell's story next!

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am offically obsessed with this mafia world Siobhan Davis has created! After finishing Condemed to Love, I could not wait for Natalia and Leo's story, and what a story it is! Forbidden to Love is dark, emotional, gritty and heartbreaking at times. The suspense and danger lurking at all corners kept me guessing from start to finish.

Leo and Natalia's love story begins when they are teenagers, they love each other so fiercely but a relationship between them is strictly forbidden as Natalia is the daughter to a Mafia Don, and has been promised to another. The way Leo protects her and watches over her made my heart soar and break at the same time.

Natalia is the pillar of strength!  My heart squeezed and ached for her. She has endured so much, lost so much and still came out fighting every single time.

Sarah Puckett and Michael Gallagher are such incredible storytellers. They tell this story in duet and it made the story come alive in my ears so perfectly.  Their voices are strong, emotional, captivating and engaging. I felt all the emotions with their performances from love, fear, steam and angst. I need more stories narrated by these two asap!

I am in love with Siobhan Davis' writing and the Mazzone famiglia and I am dying to find out what she has in store for Serena and Alesso in Scared to Love next!
