Dangerous Temptations was so different from anything I have read by these authors before, but what a fabulous read! 

After the death of her grandfather, Sydney returns home to Salem, Massachusetts to run the veterinarian clinic that has been passed down to her. She receives a mysterious letter that sends her on a scavenger hunt uncovering clue after clue. I loved how these authors write together. They keep you engaged and guessing on how the mystery will unfold and how the past connects to the present.

I loved Sydney’s spark & attitude and her quirky, clumsiness in the beginning. Loved how she was constantly stumbling over her words when she first met Mike. I loved that even after losing her grandfather and having no family left she was still able to keep on moving and keep a positive attitude. I also loved her passion for animals.

I adored Mike just as much. A strong cop, who knows what he wants the moment he meets Sydney and is unapologetic in his pursuit of her. He also provides us with those totally, sweet swoon-worthy moments as their chemistry and connection grow. I couldn’t get enough of them. I loved Mike and his dog Maggie Maye so much! The way he interacts with her will melt your heart right from the beginning.  

Mike’s parents were hilarious! the humour they add to the story is just the best.

I was impressed how many twists and turns the story takes as Sydney and Mike get closer and closer to unraveling the truth. So well written.

We bumped into the counter and he cursed, muttering an apology as he set me on it. Removing my jacket, I could hardly breathe when his teeth sank into my lip. His hands pulled at my tank, tugging it and my bra down over my breasts.

“Fuck.” He tore his mouth away, lowering to my chest as he unzipped his jeans.

I gripped his face, needing those lips back on mine, then I reached for his waistband, shoving his jeans and briefs down.

He helped, and then pulled me right to the edge, testing my entrance with his thumb before licking the digit and pushing my panties aside. “I still have your other pair,” he said, his breath rattling as he pushed at my opening.

“Wha–oh, shit.” He rammed inside, and my head rolled.

He slammed in and out, again and again, one hand around my leg that’d been looped behind him, and the other behind my head as he bent over and hammered into me, sucking at my throat.

It’d been so long, and I felt just how long as the discomfort slowly fled and pleasure began to flood my bloodstream. “I-I think I’m coming…”

Everett chuckled, the sound dark. “You think? Clover, when I’m fucking you, you know damn well you’re coming.” Then he lifted me and spun us around until my back met the cool exterior of the fridge, magnets digging into my ass while I kept my legs wrapped tight around him.

 I mumbled incoherent pleas to his tongue as it slid over mine. Our teeth clacked, his hips jerking up so fast and hard, I was on the edge and shaking for what felt like minutes. “So fucking beautiful. So fucking mine. Say it.” He reached between us to flick me into a million shattering pieces. “Say it while you come because of me.”

“Yours,” I rasped, and he held my face as he jerked and stilled, his forehead hard on mine and his breath choppy as it drifted inside my mouth.

We remained like that, eyes locked, our thundering hearts taking their time to slow and calm. His finger drifted over my cheek, and his cock softened inside me.

 “You’ve wrecked me, Clover.”

MY 5 STAR REVIEW

Oh my gosh my heart! You know a book is well written when you put a book down and the next day you cannot stop thinking about it. I finished this book late last night and these characters are still on my mind. Ella Fields is a master of emotional, angsty romance and this one was no different. I am generally not a fan of a triangle love story unless it is written right and ohhh is it ever! The way she writes this book will have you turning the pages until the end. This book was an EPIC roller coaster ride of emotions. My heart was breaking one moment and happy the next. It will wreck and ruin you in the best possible way. 

I fell in love with the teenage love of Everett and Stevie immediately. Everett's character was so mysterious intitally. Right from the beginning you know that he doesnt have a favorable home life and you immediately want to know more about him. 

But then enter Aiden and my heart couldn't take it! I fell for him even more, even knowing Stevie was no where near ready to close the book on Everett and the anticipation of how it would all play out had my heart in shambles.

The story is chalk full of heartbreak and mistakes but either way I was routing for all of them to get their happy ending. A definite 5 star read for me! Such an incredibly journey.
