REVIEW: My Beautiful Neighbor by Piper Rayne

Release Date: February 23

Who’s the mystery woman who just walked into my brewery?

I’m not the only one from my Alaskan small town asking themselves that question. But I’m positive, I’m the only one in Sunrise Bay undressing the pretty blonde in my head. Everything about her, from her make-up to her high heels says she’s a fish out of water.

Whispers and speculations run rampant until the secret of who she is gets uncovered. Then the rumor mill goes into overdrive when she announces she’s staying to open a bookstore in the building next to mine—throwing a big wrench into my plans to buy that empty building.

I quickly find myself in a tug-of-war since my business partner/brother is upset she’s ruined the opportunity to expand our business. I try to keep my distance, but I’ve got one sister with a gossip column on the local radio station and two meddling grandmas setting me up as a tour director.

And now I kind of like the idea of our new neighbor staying. But small-town life isn’t for the weak—time will tell if she has what it takes to be one of us.

Review

3.5 stars!

Piper Rayne is back in Alaska, with the first Greene book. This time in Sunrise Bay. If you are familiar with Piper Rayne’s beloved Bailey Series you will love My Beautiful Neighbor. It is sweet, funny and filled with all the crazy shenanigans that comes along with a huge family in a small town.

Cade Greene is the oldest of 9 siblings in a blended family. Him and his step-brother Jed own and run the local brewery. He lost his mom at 12 years old and has never really healed emotionally from her death. As the oldest he has always felt the need to be there for his younger siblings and his feelings took a backseat. Cade has a big heart and I loved him instantly.

I adore the Greene family. They are a supportive and loving group. They tease and rib each other. They meddle in each other love lives but it is with the best of intentions.

Presley Knight is new to town. She came to town for the reading of her biological mothers will and to meet her sister. She is strong and has a kind heart. I didn’t care for her attitude at first. I understood it in one way as she felt like a fish out of water coming to a small town where she didn’t feel she could fit into but in another way her demeanour could have been kinder. It took me a bit to warm up to her. The romance between she and Cade was lacking and I didn’t feel the spark I had hoped to. They start their relationship as a friends with benefits situation but it turns into more quickly when feelings get involved.

I enjoyed this book and loved all the crumbs Piper Rayne left us with anticipating the rest of The Greene Siblings books and who they will be matched with. Adam and Lucy’s book is next in My Almost Ex and I cannot wait for it.

REVIEW: Everlast by Alex Grayson

Everlast by Alex Grayson is now live!

From USA Today Bestselling Author, Alex Grayson, comes an
emotionally captivating love story that rivals time....

Lincoln was my once in a lifetime, my destiny.

I was his happily ever after, his kismet.

I met him when I was eight, and he saved me from the bullies on the school playground.

The next day, he called me his girl.

When we were thirteen, we began to look at each other differently.

At fourteen, we shared our first kiss.

We were sixteen the first time we made love and promised we’d always be together.

The night before we graduated high-school, he asked me to marry him, and the day before we left for college, I became his wife.

Our first child came when we were just twenty-three. And our second, five years later.

Our future was forevermore written in the stars. We had that indescribable kind of love everyone searches for, but rarely ever find. A love so strong, one lifetime wouldn’t be enough.

His soul was my mate, and mine was his.

Our life was perfect. Until it wasn’t.

Fate brought us together... would it dare tear us apart?

REVIEW

5+ stars!

Everlast is unique, emotional, heartbreaking and beautiful. It is the EPIC conclusion to the prequel novella, Forevermore.

As I read this story I felt Lincoln and Molly’s story DEEP in my soul. Their story pulled at my heart strings. I ugly cried ALL the tears and know that this story and these incredible characters will stay with me for a very long time.

Lincoln and Molly share the most beautiful forever kind of love. They meet as young children, they marry as young adults and then life throws them a curveball that no one could have seen coming. My heart was ripped to shreds reading all that these characters face together. It is so very raw and impactful.

From the first to last word, Alex Grayson poured her heart and soul into writing this book. I’ve never read anything like it. The writing is PHENOMENAL and deserves ALL the stars.

Excerpt:

“Are you a doctor?” she counters, but she lets me inspect her injury. “I’m the doctor in the room,” I tease. I ask where it hurts, and she points to her wrist, frowning. I run a thumb gently along that tender spot, that tantalizing place that can drive a woman wild. If you touch her just right. Which it seems I am doing, since Scarlett’s breath hitches. “Daniel,” she whispers, her voice perhaps betraying her. “I’m fine. I swear I’m fine.” I tuck my finger under her chin, lift it, and meet her gaze. “Are you sure?” She nods, her eyes a little glossy. “I swear I am.” “Let’s be certain.” I lift her wrist to my face, my eyes on hers. Waiting for a sign. Waiting for more. “Yes, please.” So I bring her wrist to my lips and press a kiss to my business partner’s skin. She lets out a low moan. A groan works its way up my chest, and I swallow it down as I dust my lips over her pulse point. I close my eyes, inhaling her, savoring the scent of her skin, of her lotion, of her Scarlett-ness. I should move away. But she’s right here. Images of last night’s fantasies flicker before me, along with the moment just now in front of the mirror, and how she looked at the reflection of her and me. I open my eyes. She nibbles on the corner of her lips, gazing down a me as I look up at her. Is she thinking the same thing I am? One kiss. One taste. That’s all. I tamp down the groan in my throat as I breathe in. Then, I take the next step. I stand, gently take her uninjured hand, and carefully tug her up. I reach toward her hair, tucking an errant strand behind her ear, testing to see if she’ll make that sound again. That gasp. That hitch of her breath. She does. It’s sensual and erotic, and it goes straight to my cock. I do the one thing I’ve thought about doing for the last few years. The thing I’ve prided myself on resisting. I move closer, lean in, and press a kiss to her cheek. It’s the same type of kiss I’ve given her every time we greet each other. But this time, I linger. I don’t back away. I simply brush my lips across her cheek and whisper, “All better now?”

Blurb:

A week-long trip. A fake marriage. And seven delicious nights with only one bed in the hotel room. He's my business partner, my good friend, and the man I've craved for years. But I've resisted the sexy Brit, and I plan to keep up my walls because I've been there, done that, and I know how much it hurts when you let someone into your heart. Then an opportunity comes along for us to snag the business deal of a lifetime. The catch? We need to pretend we're married to pull off this high-stakes deal. So the clever, charming man with secrets a mile deep becomes my temporary husband, as we travel around Europe. Soon, we fall into bed, tangled together like newlyweds who can't keep their hands off each other. One week to explore our fantasies, then we return to who we were. But when I learn the dark secrets he's been keeping, I doubt we can go back. Because they change everything. My One-Week Husband is a standalone romance!

REVIEW

5 stars!

Ever since first being introduced to Daniel in One Exquisite Touch I’ve been dying to learn more about him and get his full story and LB did not disappoint. You do not need to have read One Exquisite Touch as My One Week Husband can be read as standalone.

Scarlett and Daniel are Hotelier’s. They are business partners and friends and respect each other immensely.

I adored Scarlett. She is a fierce business woman. She likes order and numbers and is intelligent and independent. She loves Paris and the magic of the city. She likes beauty and bright colours. She is protective of her heart after the death of her husband whom was keeping secrets from her but she is intrigued by Daniel and agrees to pose as his wife for a week while looking at their acquisition.

Daniel was such a mystery in the beginning. I knew from the glimpses we got in One Exquisite Touch that he had a tragic past. He loves the symphony, women and business. He is good at what he does in the boardroom and in the bedroom. He has a wicked dirty side and has been lusting after Scarlett for not just her body but her mind as well. Daniel is direct and does not mince words. He is insanely attractive and impossible to resist. I adored his softer side that Scarlett brought out in him.

This couple could not have been more perfect for another. They compliment each other in the best of ways, they challenge each other and have incredibly chemistry. The way they banter and the dialogue between them is sexy and humorous but also serious when they needed to be.

This story is one of LB’s best. It is full of adventure, heart and passion and highly recommend it.

Review: The Bluff by Willa Nash

The Bluff by Willa Nash is now live!

As Calamity's newest resident, Everly Christian thought life in small-town Montana would be dull and tame--and she needs a little mundane after the last few chaotic years. But one night, boredom drives her to the local bar, where she finds herself sitting beside a handsome and mysterious artist.

Reese Huxley needs a wife.
And why shouldn't Everly be the bride?
She's got her reasons for agreeing to the hasty nuptials--reasons she's keeping to herself. REVIEW

4.5⭐️

The Bluff is the second book in the Calamity Falls series by Devney Perry, writing as Willa Nash. After finishing the Bribe I couldn’t wait for Hux and Everly’s story.

Reese Huxley (Hux) is an ex con, single dad and broody and absolutely gorgeous. He has paid for his past mistakes but his witch of an ex will not allow him to have custody of their daughter and due to his past he is having trouble convincing the court to give him a chance. He has turned into a bit of a recluse and doesn’t trust easily.

Hux’s daughter Savannah is 16 years old. She feels unwanted and unseen by her mother and has to sneak around to see her Dad.

Everly is scarred from her past. She and her best friend Lucy (featured in the Bribe) were stalked and held at gunpoint and she has not healed from those emotional scars. When she over hears a conversation between Hux and his lawyer her idea of marriage of convenience makes perfect sense. Despite Everly’s scars she is sassy and strong and doesn’t hesitate in calling Hux out when he needed it. I loved her fire and passion and her tender heart.

Hux and Everly have an incredible connection. Their relationship begins with no strings attached  but quickly turns into more even though it takes them a while to admit the way they feel for one another is much more they originally bargained for.

The Bluff is written in Devney Perry/Willa Nash’s usual style. Sexy and sweet with the perfect amount of emotion and heat to make this an addicting read from beginning to end.

The epilogue was beautiful and I didn’t want the story to end. I loved how the next book was set up and cannot wait to read it next.
