Ripple Effect is a slow-burn/enemies to lovers romance. The story is phenomenally written and the characters had a vice grip on my heart from beginning to end. This is not your typical rockstar romance. It is uniquely written with a twist I could have never been prepared for. 

Dani is a school teacher, she is passionate, quirky, and a super fun character. She is a fighter and I looked up to her fierce determination.  RJ is hiding out, in a mediocre apartment, laying low after a failed attempt at a solo career. He is feeling sorry for himself and who better to push him out of his comfort zone than his beautiful, outspoken neighbour, Dani. 

Throughout listening to this audiobook it took me on an epic journey of emotion. These characters face an enormous tragedy together, and experiencing how they both navigated that was equally humorous, emotional and suspenseful. I adored the way they supported one another through love, patience and strength after all they went through and their connection was unbreakable. The narration done by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter was fantastic. The heavy, thick emotions portrayed by them both were outstanding and pulled at my heartstrings. I highly recommend this!

Melissa Ellen continues to blow me away with her romantic suspense writing! Salvation is the third book in her Made Series. While I have enjoyed the previous two books in the series, this one is definitely the one that stands out the most for me. The writing is gripping, thrilling, suspenseful and I was completely invested from beginning to end. Just the premises of a love story between a FBI agent and an assassin alone completely intrigued me. Then you get into the story and learn the characters back stories, what makes them these fierce, passionate, strong and loyal individuals and I couldn’t help but route for their HEA.

From the moment Ally meets Merrick, there is some intense chemistry between them. Ally is pretty steadfast in her view that she isn’t going to let anyone or anything derail her from her focus of re-opening her fathers murder which has become a cold case. However, she cannot ignore her attraction and feelings for the mysterious Merrick. He is a hired assassin, he has a military background, and knows his way around a sniper. Ally isn’t quick to trust Merrick right away but she quickly changes her mind after several attempts on her life and he is always there right beside her as she fights off her attackers. 

Connor Crais and Chloe Ryan do a fantastic job narrating this story. They both have strong, powerful voices that bring life to their characters so effortlessly. Connor has the protective alpha growl down perfectly, and Chloe’s emotional performance was just perfect!

The Plight Before Christmas was just the book I needed to get me in the mood for the holidays! Kate Stewart continues to blow me away with her writing. Much laughter, heart flutters and tears were had during this read. I absolutely adored and devoured every word and became completely consumed by Whitney, Eli and the whole Collins clan.

Whitney is a 38 year old single woman and feeling run down by life after being passed over for the promotion she thought she had in the bag, a breakup and car troubles and she is looking forward to spending the holidays among her family. Upon arrival to her family’s cabin she gets the shock of her life when her long lost love shows up as a guest of her brother Brenden.

Whitney and Eli fell hard and fast for each in college until one day Eli completely obliterated Whitney’s heart without any real explanation. 17 years later and the love emanating from them was evident from the moment they lock eyes again. They of course don’t admit that right away but the heat coursing through them with every look, touch or glance is hard to ignore.

The Collins family were such a hoot. Whitney’s Dad takes the holiday activity planning to the next level and it made from seriously funny moments. I loved Whitney’s siblings and their adorable children.

This is one of my most favourite holiday romances EVER. It is romantic comedy, second chance romance and holiday feels all rolled into one phenomenal story and I highly recommend it!

Surprise baby and rockstar romance? Yes please! After listening to Played by the Rock Star earlier this year, I have wanted to get Courtney's story and Christina Hovland did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoy her writing style. It is sexy, funny and low angst. Her characters are well developed and easy to fall for! Courtney is the publicist for her brother’s band, Dimefront. Bax is the lead singer and after some bad PR, Courtney has been assigned to the job of laying low with Bax. One thing leads another and after a steamy hook-up they get much more than they bargained for with the news of Courtney's pregnancy.

This story provides a ton of laughs, emotion, feels and of course romance. There was never a dull moment from beginning to end of this story. The banter, dialogue, family drama and connection between Courtney and Bax kept me engaged in the storyline and not wanting to stop listening until I finished. Courtney and Bax, went through many growth spurts throughout their relationship. I loved every moment as they discover their feelings go beyond much more than a co-parenting relationship.

Overall, this is such a fun, easy listen. I have listened to Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke before, but had never heard them together and they were a great pairing for this story. Rose's range of voice is fantastic. Her storytelling is animated and fun and she absolutely nailed the vulnerable, emotional side to her character as well. Jason Clarke is one of my absolute favorites. His talent knows no bounds. No matter what character he plays, he always puts a fresh spin on his characters and rock star Jason is my new favorite.

The Greene family and even a few Baileys pop up in Fisher and Allie’s story and I loved every moment. Fisher and Allie have a lot to navigate with their unexpected surprise and I enjoyed the progression of their relationship as they learn and grow through the many stages as they go from soon to be co-parents, to friends, to lovers. Fisher gets the shock of his life when he runs into Allie and discovers she is pregnant with his baby. It takes him a moment to get his head around how drastically his life is going to change but he is a Greene so of course he does the right thing and steps up to his responsibilities. I loved Allie’s fiery personality, she held her own with Fisher and his outrageous demands initially. She didn’t cower once despite his many attempts to treat her like fragile glass through her pregnancy. As we have come to expect with this series, dear Dori and Ethel are back with their meddling and shenanigans, and had me in fits of giggles at their scheming ways. Fisher’s growth in what I loved most about this book. He was always so adamant that he would never allow himself to have happiness, love, marriage and kids but Allie changes everything for him. His mothers death had a huge impact on him and he was so reluctant to open his heart up that way and even the few times he gets spooked he is all in with Allie and he has to learn to make himself vulnerable to allow that love in completely and when he does it is such beauty. Piper Rayne’s writing is heartfelt and funny and I cannot get enough of the Greene family. I cannot wait for the next one!

Code Name: Disavowed is the eighth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Jameson Force Security Series and is the story of Ladd McDermott and Greer Hathaway. It is a second chance, romantic suspense story. This book captivated me from the first page. The action and thrilling suspense while Ladd and Greer are in the fight of their lives kept me engaged and completely invested from beginning to end.

Ladd is a newer agent in the Jameson family, we’ve seen him pop up in previous books but didn’t know much of his back story. From the first moment he learns of Greer’s endangerment he does not hesitate for a single second to put his life in danger to saves hers. If that isn’t true love I don’t know what is. Ladd is a single dad, to his ten year old son, Ethan. He co-parents him with his ex-wife who he is on good terms with. I loved Ladd and his tender moments with Ethan. He is such a terrific dad. Greer is his first love whom he never really got over. You can tell his heart never fully healed after they broke up and I was routing for them from the first moment they reconnect.

Greer is a strong confident, intelligent woman. She is as fierce as they come. She doesn’t hesitate to back down from a challenge and jump into the danger and violence that comes with the job of a CIA agent.

My only problem with the book was romance between Greer and Ladd. It is almost glossed over. The book is heavily focused on the danger and suspense of the story and I feel the book ended too quickly and it felt quite rushed. I wanted more time with them together as a couple and was left feeling a little disappointed in the end.

Regardless I am a huge fan of this authors work and am completely invested in this series. I cannot wait for Dozer’s book after that little peak at the end!
