“You’re a pain in the ass, anyone ever tell you that?”
“You’re a controlling jerk who refuses to admit he needs help.”
We were so close, I could feel her warm breath on my face.
See the flecks of gray in the green of her eyes. I glared at her.
“You’re trying my patience, Red.”
“You’re pissing me off,” she retorted, jabbing at my chest with her pointy finger.
I grabbed her hand, and we both stared at it.
Felt the heat bubbling in the air around us.
Our gazes locked, and suddenly, my mouth was on hers.
Demanding. Hard. Determined.
She yanked back, her breathing hard.
“You’re an asshole.”
“I know.”
Then she flung her arms around my neck and kissed me back.
She pulled me hard, yanking on my hair.
I wrapped my arm around her, settling my hand on that spectacular ass, and dragging her close.
Our tongues battled for dominance, neither of us giving an inch.
It was only the sound of a car door slamming out front that had us pulling apart.

Revved to the Maxx is a TOP favourite book by Melanie Moreland. I would classify it as rom-com and contemporary. It is a fun, sweet, entertaining read. Melanie brought all the feels and then some. I could not put it down from start to finish. I am hopelessly in love with Maxx and Charly.
Maxx and Charly have immediate chemistry. The moment they meet there are white hot sparks! Maxx is in for a real surprise thinking his new employee is a young man because instead he gets the fiery redhead, Charly, short for Charlynn. He is so totally blown away and stunned by her beauty, her wit and charm you know these two are going to be a lot of fun together.
Charly has just lost her job and is down on her luck living in Toronto when she comes across Maxx’s ad for assistant/girl Friday. She is immediately snarky with her remarks back to him but ends up taking the job anyway. If only she knew what would await her on her three hour travel north.
Maxx is everything you’d expect him to be. Growly, pure alpha male and PASSIONATE. He has his sweet and swoony moments that had me completely falling but the passion between him and Charly was red hot and so addicting. They had so much chemistry, I just couldn’t get enough.
Charly is all snark and sass. She keeps Maxx on his toes constantly and does not hesitate to call him out when necessary. They compliment each other in so many ways and they are the perfect match. The banter between them was the best. I loved every moment of this book and I urge you to check it out for yourself as you will not be disappointed.
