Oh, look, Ashton Carter destroyed his life—again.
Dad’s disappointed in me.
No shocker there.
But with them, it’s worse.
We’re torn apart and I’m responsible for the shredding.
Liar.
Unworthy.
I’m not sure it’s even fixable.
Four broken hearts...
Anyone got any tape?
REVIEW
5 stars!
I finished this book more than a week ago and I still cannot stop thinking about this AMAZING duet.
At the start of 2020 I set a personal reading goal to challenge myself to read romance that is outside of the box and try different tropes and sub-genres that I wouldn’t have normally picked up in the past. Before this duet I had never read a RH novel nor had I read a MM Romance. Being that Nikki Ash and K Webster are two of my most favourite authors I knew this was my chance to try something new and WOW did they exceed all my expectations. Torn Apart and Bound Together are so outside of the box they cannot be classified as a specific genre or trope. It is new adult, angsty goodness that is epic all on its own.
Torn Apart was messy and complicated in the best of ways. I was left reeling waiting for book 2 so the moment it landed on my kindle I devoured it in one sitting. Bound Together picks right up where Torn Apart leaves off. We get to know so much more about these unique, beautiful people with complex emotions and tender hearts. They are all feeling so much as they navigate their new relationships. They fear the unknown, are scared, and confused and my heart ached for each and every one of them.
On the outside Mia is the glue that keeps them all together, but deep down she is also suffering from heartache of a lifetime constantly being put down by her parents and never feeling accepted or enough by them. So this untraditional relationship could not be embraced by anyone better than her and witnessing how Drew, Brayden and Ashton individually put her back together was so, so beautiful.
The story is full of pain and sorrow and joy and happiness. It has a powerful message of excepting love in all shapes and sizes and it is truly unlike anything I have ever read before. It is steamy, taboo and forbidden. It proves that love is love and does not need a label to be defined.
Favourite duet of 2020!
