Review: The Bluff by Willa Nash

The Bluff by Willa Nash is now live!

As Calamity's newest resident, Everly Christian thought life in small-town Montana would be dull and tame--and she needs a little mundane after the last few chaotic years. But one night, boredom drives her to the local bar, where she finds herself sitting beside a handsome and mysterious artist.
The man is anything but dull and tame, especially in the bedroom, and when she steps out of his shower and overhears his conversation, life gets interesting again.
Reese Huxley needs a wife.
And why shouldn't Everly be the bride?
She's got her reasons for agreeing to the hasty nuptials--reasons she's keeping to herself. As long as she can stop herself from falling in love with her husband, she'll make it out of this sham marriage in one piece. But Everly has a weakness for wayward men, and the more Hux pushes her away, the more she realizes this bluff is anything but a lie.

REVIEW

4.5⭐️

The Bluff is the second book in the Calamity Falls series by Devney Perry, writing as Willa Nash. After finishing the Bribe I couldn’t wait for Hux and Everly’s story.

Reese Huxley (Hux) is an ex con, single dad and broody and absolutely gorgeous. He has paid for his past mistakes but his witch of an ex will not allow him to have custody of their daughter and due to his past he is having trouble convincing the court to give him a chance. He has turned into a bit of a recluse and doesn’t trust easily.

Hux’s daughter Savannah is 16 years old. She feels unwanted and unseen by her mother and has to sneak around to see her Dad.

Everly is scarred from her past. She and her best friend Lucy (featured in the Bribe) were stalked and held at gunpoint and she has not healed from those emotional scars. When she over hears a conversation between Hux and his lawyer her idea of marriage of convenience makes perfect sense. Despite Everly’s scars she is sassy and strong and doesn’t hesitate in calling Hux out when he needed it. I loved her fire and passion and her tender heart.

Hux and Everly have an incredible connection. Their relationship begins with no strings attached  but quickly turns into more even though it takes them a while to admit the way they feel for one another is much more they originally bargained for.

The Bluff is written in Devney Perry/Willa Nash’s usual style. Sexy and sweet with the perfect amount of emotion and heat to make this an addicting read from beginning to end.

The epilogue was beautiful and I didn’t want the story to end. I loved how the next book was set up and cannot wait to read it next.
