REVIEW: Blame it on the Tequila by Fiona Cole

The world loves him and his music, but I loved him first.

Blame it on the Tequila by Fiona Cole is now live!

It started on a dance floor after too much tequila and ended with looking into the handsome face I never thought I'd see again. In-person, at least.

I saw his face all the time on magazine covers.

To the world, he's Parker Callahan- famous rockstar.

To me, he was the boy I loved, the stepbrother who left me behind to follow his dreams.

After our tequila-fueled encounter, he wants me back but that's not a road I'm ready to walk down again. He broke my heart once, and even five years later, I'm not sure I could handle another blow.

When a once-in-a-lifetime offer comes my way, even my broken heart isn't enough for me to be able to turn it down. I agree to join the band's tour and help Parker write his next album--but this time I'm not falling in love.

This time I'll walk away.

If there is one thing life has taught me, it's that love never goes to plan--especially when Parker is involved.

4 stars!

Since the end of Blame it on the Champagne I fell in love with Nova, and have been dying for her and Parker’s story and ohh, did Fiona Cole exceed all my expectations with this story! Nova is fierce and strong. Parker is one sexy rockstar. This is a slow burn, forbidden romance and is filled with angst, drama and tension. The steam in this book is OFF THE CHARTS! I felt SO much when reading this. It is a real rollercoaster ride from beginning to end and I could not put the book down once I started it. I loved all the multi-layers to this complicated love story. Parker and Nova began as step siblings when their parents marry each other when they are teenagers. Something tragic occurs and forces them apart. One night of tequila brings them back together and Parker is determined to never let go of Nova again. I admired his determination. Nova wasn’t so eager to forgive right away. The story is told is dual POV and flips between past and present seamlessly. The only thing that stopped me from giving this a full five stars is the miscommunication and conflict that occurred. Both characters could have done more and in some ways this makes for very real, relatable and flawed characters but with just a little more effort some of it could have been avoided. My favourite thing about these characters was there passion for art and music. It is beautiful, emotional and made for a true and deep connection. Overall this was a fantastic story and I cannot wait for Rae’s book next.
