Every Little Piece of Me by Lexi Ryan: Blog Tour + Review

Every Little Piece of Me is a sexy, standalone second-chance romance in the all-new Orchid Valley series.

Every Little Piece of Me by New York TimesUSA Today bestselling author, Lexi Ryan, is live!

It’s not every day you get invited to your wife’s wedding to another man...as a guest.

The first time I saw Brinley Knox, she was crying, draped in a ridiculous pink tulle dress for her sweet sixteen party, and cursing the boy who’d broken her heart.

I was the hired help, a teenage charity case.

She was the daughter of the wealthiest family in Orchid Valley.

I knew a girl like Brinley was off-limits for a guy like me. That didn’t stop me from kissing her. Or from promising that if she were ever mine, I’d never let her go.

The last time I saw Brinley, she was sleeping, tangled in the sheets of my Vegas penthouse, my diamond glittering on her left ring finger.

I returned three hours later to an empty bed, the ring on the dresser, and a goodbye note.

We haven’t spoken in the six months since, but I’m not the kind of guy who’d file for a divorce he doesn’t want.

Until I got this damn invitation, it never occurred to me that Brinley didn’t remember our impulsive Vegas nuptials.

It’s time to return to Orchid Valley and remind the bride-to-be that I’m a man who keeps his promises.

Every Little Piece of Me, excerpt © 2020 by Lexi Ryan

I run the water cold and brace myself on the sink.

Everything is okay. This is just one moment. Inhale and exhale, and move your way through it.

Once my breathing evens out, I splash cold water on my face and blot it dry with a paper towel. I’m definitely overreacting. There are a thousand reasons he could be in town and want to talk to me alone. Thousands of reasons that don’t begin with the words “You’re the love of my life. Please don’t marry anyone else.”

Because I’m almost positive I don’t want to hear those words. Mostly.

When I step out of the bathroom, Marston is waiting there, leaning against the wall across from the ladies’ room, arms folded, jaw twitching with aggravation. The picture of tall, dark, and pissed off.

When Marston sets his mind to something, he gets it, and tonight, apparently that something is talking to me alone.

“Sorry.” I smooth down my pencil skirt. “That vodka didn’t sit right.” I turn toward the main room.

He catches me around the waist and spins me so fast that I’m trapped between the wall and him before I can blink. “Give me one minute.” He braces his hands above my head and leans forward.

I swallow hard. Not because I’m scared. Marston’s never scared me. But looking up at him when he’s this close is stirring up all kinds of memories. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to look at him without part of me wishing for the future I longed for at sixteen. I place a firm hand on his chest. “I don’t think this is a good idea.”

“Was Vegas a joke to you?”

Of all the questions I expected him to ask, that wasn’t anywhere on the list. “What? Of course not. Vegas was . . .” Hot. Impulsive. Crazy. Amazing. Wild . . . everything.

He dips his head until his lips hover right above mine. “Don’t you dare call it a mistake,” he growls, his warm breath tickling my skin.

I ache to close the distance between our mouths, ache to feel his kiss again. I’d never call Vegas a mistake. Maybe I should, but I can’t.

“Fuck, you smell so good. I couldn’t get the smell of you out of my mind for weeks after you left me that damn note. Do you know how crazy that made me?”

My hand is still against his chest. If I pushed, he’d back off. He’d give me the space to clear my head. But when he shifts his mouth from above mine to my ear, I don’t want to push him away. I want to pull him back. “Marston—”

“Is this why you sent me that invitation? Did you want me to come here and remind you what it’s like between us? How it feels when we’re close?” In a breath, he has me pinned against the wall again, and his mouth crushes against mine.

Fireworks explode in my stomach. All at once, the floor is falling out from under me and I’m floating.

The kiss doesn’t last long—I don’t let it. I tear my mouth away before it can swallow me whole.

I shove him back, my lips tingling. “You can’t do that.” The kiss was everything I remembered, everything that’s missing when I kiss Julian. Everything I’ve been trying to convince myself I don’t need.

Review

Every Little Piece of Me is a wonderfully written second chance love story. Brinley and Marston are childhood sweethearts. Brinley is the daughter of a rich family and Marston is the hired help. A relationship between them is forbidden and eventually she ends things breaking both their hearts. Fast forward 10 years they meet and Vegas and share a passionate night together and end up married to another, only Brinley doesn’t remember and is planning to marry someone else. Marston is not having it and begins to plan to make her remember. Boy, did I love Marston. He is the perfect, swoony hero that I love in a romance novel. He is patient, kind and loving. Brinley on the other hand grated on me at times, she was often stuck in her own head and had a hard time speaking up for herself. This couple has a hard road ahead to get to their HEA but the story telling was gripping and kept me wanting more. Overall I loved the Orchard Valley Crew and look forward to reading more books in this seres in the future.

New York Times Bestselling author, Corinne Michaels, brings a new breathtaking and emotional love story to life in the second STANDALONE in the Arrowood Brothers series.

Fight for Me is LIVE!

I fell in love with Sydney Hastings when I was ten years old.

At sixteen, we whispered promises of forever.

When I was twenty-two I broke them all. I left her and promised never to return.

After my father's death, I’m forced to go home to Sugarloaf for six months. She'll be everywhere, no longer just in my memories and regrets.

When we’re together, it’s as though time never stopped. She’s still the one I want, but I don’t deserve her. Instead of apologizing, I take that beautiful, broken woman in my arms. But after that, it’s her turn to leave me.

Now I have to fight. For her. For us. For the life we both want …

Excerpt:

"Do you want to dance?"

She nods.

I hear my brother make a noise and pretend I didn't. She said yes, and I'm going to cling to that.

Here might be the last time I ever get to hold her in my arms, and I'm going to take it.

"I love this song."

I love you.

"Why is that?" I ask.

Her arms move to my chest, and I wonder if she can feel the pounding of my heart. My nerves are bowstrings, being pulled taut before the arrow is ready to fly. Everything inside of me is strained, but I keep it together.

Sydney and I move, the world falling away as it always does when I am with her. Gone is the hurt of my past, the uncertainty of my present, and the regret of the future ahead. Right now, I have her.

She's here, in my arms, where she's meant to be.

I don't care if the sky lights on fire because she's all I see.

"Listen to her." Sydney's voice is quiet and pensive. "Listen to her talk about him giving up and her asking him to stay."

And I do. I hear the words, and I swear that she's singing to us.

"Don't tell me it's too late," Emily croons.

"I won't give up that easy.

Don't call me darlin' and tell me that you're leavin'.

Don't walk away.

Stop pushing me when you know you want to hold on.

It could be so easy for us, baby.

I've been here, but you don't see me.

Don't let go if you're not ready for me to walk away." The acoustic guitar takes over as her voice drifts off.

"Syd," I say her name as both a plea to let go and hold on.

Her hands grip my shirt tighter. "Don't. Don't let go. Don't push me away."

I see the tears in her eyes. I don't want to push her away. I want to hold her close, kiss her senseless, and love her until she knows it in every fiber of her being that she's everything I want.

I see her. I feel her. I know her in my bones, but I won't be able to be who she needs.

No matter how much I wish it weren't the case, I can't give her the life she wants with a husband and babies. All I can offer her is a friendship that has an expiration date because once my six-months is up and she has moved, I know I won't allow myself to see her again.

The song ends, and the two of us stop moving, just watching the other.

The spell that was surrounding us seems to break and awareness fills her gaze. Her fingers loosen and drop from where they had been clutching my shirt and she takes a step back.

The loss of her is felt everywhere. My heart doesn't seem to beat as strongly, the cold hits my chest, making it hard to breathe, and the emptiness from her loss leaves me weak.

For those minutes I held her, the world made sense. And now ... I need to leave.

REVIEW

Wow! Fight for Me is an incredible second book in the Arrowood Brothers Series! This is Declan and Sydney’s story whom we learn a bit about it the first book in the series. Corinne Michaels writes a deeply emotional story about a second chance at love and the trials and tribulations this particular couple goes through to get their happy ending. Sydney and Declan are childhood sweethearts, the true love of each other’s lives. It been 8 years since Declan left Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania and left Sydney’s heart in a tattered mess. Neither have been able to move on from each other over all these years and now Declan has returned and they must confront the pains and hurts of the past. This is their chance to FIGHT and what a journey it is. Declan is the oldest Arrowood brother and is harbouring a lot of guilt from the past and feels the most burden of the decisions his father made. My heart was in tatters seeing him work through it. He and Sydney are true soulmates and once he gives in and allows himself forgiveness and reconnects with Sydney their chemistry is out of the this world. So much heat and passion and FEELS. The writing is deeply emotional and heartbreakingly beautiful. I was not prepared for all the feels in this one! Get your tissues ready! An incredible 5++ star read and a top favorite of 2020!

NEW RELEASE + REVIEW: Rival Roomies by Piper Rayne

Release Date: May 12

I’ve loved him from afar.

Though most times he’s only a foot away.

I’m smart enough to know he’ll never be anyone’s forever.

He checks all the bad boy boxes.
Tattoos. Check.
Motorcycle. Check.
Chip on his shoulder. Check check.

If he wasn’t my neighbor and friend I may have thrown myself at him. Okay, yeah. I wouldn’t. Because guys like Dylan don’t want a woman who writes kid’s math textbooks under him in bed. Instead, I pathetically savor morsels of moments where I have his sole attention.

That was until his archenemy moved in with me. Now suddenly, Dylan’s moving in too and warning off the first guy in a long time who’s showing me interest. Could he finally see me as more than a friend, or am I just a prize to win and show off to his enemy?

REVIEW

I have been looking forward to Rian and Dylan’s story since the beginning of this series and Piper Rayne did not disappoint. This story is filled with laughter, love, friendship, heat and emotion. I devoured it in one sitting and couldn’t get enough. Rian is the nerdy girl. She writes math text books for children. She loves to bake and has a crush for her roommate Dylan. She is shy and reserved and afraid to go after what she wants. Dylan is a tattoo artist and is the classic bad boy. He is just as attracted to Rian as she is to him but thinks she deserves better. They have been keeping their mutual attraction to themselves. The title of the book is perfect, because an old friend, Jax moves in and shows an interest in Rian all bets are off and he isn’t going to let his friend get his girl. I enjoyed the push and pull between Rian & Dylan. Their chemistry was addicting. Dylan has a few hang ups that stand in his way a bit and there were times I was frustrated with his inner dialogue but in the end I adored it overall.

REVIEW

My rating: ★★★★★

Every time I pick up a book in Sarina Bowen’s Brooklyn Bruisers Hockey Series I know I’m going to love it. These characters, their love interests and families are so deep in my heart. These books have so much humor and heart. I devour every single word and Sure Shot was no different. It exceeded all my expectations and more.

It’s been 9 years since Tank and Bess had engaged in a friends with benefits sexual relationship. Bess is a sports agent and Tank has just been traded to Brooklyn from Dallas and are shocked at being thrusted back into each other’s lives. Neither are ready for the other and they have some seriously intense chemistry.

Tank is everything I love about a hockey hero. He is a broody, confident and sexy. He goes after what he wants and I immediately loved the connection between him and Bess. The texts back and forth, their witty banter and the way he shows up for her and doesn’t relent in his pursuit of her I loved. On the team Tank has his work cut out for him. He is not so welcomed on the team and is also going through a divorce.

Bess, I adored. She is the sister of Dave Beringer who we met in Bountiful. Bess has worked hard. She is focused and career driven. She has made it in a man’s world and I loved her feisty, heartfelt, protective side towards her players.

I really loved the emotional side of Sarina’s writing in this book. I didn’t expect it and adored it.

Pick this one up ASAP. You won’t be disappointed.

New Release + Review: Wylde by Sawyer Bennett

Wylde (Arizona Vengeance, Book #7) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: May 12, 2020

Synopsis:

There’s a reason they call me Wylde and it’s not just because it’s my last name. I might be one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team, but I’m no stranger to the celebrity that goes along with being a professional hockey player. Whether it’s a fan seeking an autograph or a puck bunny looking for more, I’ve grown used to the attention. I not only thrive on it; I use it to my advantage. Let’s just say my bed is rarely empty. When a quirky redhead at the local bookstore stops me dead in my tracks, I decide to pop in and turn on the trusty Wylde magic. As smart and strong-willed as she is beautiful, Clarke Webber isn’t swayed by my witty banter or charming good looks. And when she realizes who I am and the fame that comes along with it, she likes me even less. Thankfully, I’m always up for a challenge. The more I get to know about her, the more I know my playboy days are behind me. If I’m going to capture Clarke’s heart, it’s time to be a lot less Wylde, and a lot more Aaron.

REVIEW

4.5 STARS

I adored Clarke and Wylde’s story! Wylde blew me away. He is so much more than the cocky player he was made out to be in previous books. The moment he sets his eyes in Clarke he is intrigued by her and is relentless in his pursuit of her. His confidence was super sexy. Clarke on the other hand took me a bit to warm up to. In her responses to Wylde’s advances we immediately know she has some deep routed trust issues and we know he is going to have his work cut out for him. At some points her insecurities grated on my nerves but I also understood them because of a past experience.

Clarke and Wylde start their first 2 dates attending weddings of previous players and I loved catching up with some of my favourites couples from the series and found myself tearing up at them getting the wedding of their dreams.

Clarke fits in with the Arizona Vengeance family immediately. The women welcome her with open arms and everyone is stunned and intrigued by this woman that has made Wylde put his playboy ways in the past.

Wylde was so patience, sweet and caring with Clarke as she works through her trust barriers. When they physically connect it is explosive and I couldn’t get enough.

Although this is part of a hockey team and its players and their love interests, Sawyer Bennett does a perfect job filling in readers on what they may have missed if they choose to read this as standalone.

Hockey romance fans will adore this and I highly recommend it.

Boston’s debauched elite is going up in flames, and it’s the Fitzpatrick family that set it on fire.
Hunter
I didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?
It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…
Sailor
I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.

Love the One you Hate by R.S. Grey is LIVE!

R.S. Grey’s new standalone romance, Love the One You Hate is out now! Check it out and grab your copy today!

About Love the One You Hate (OUT NOW!)

Nicholas Hunt is the man I hate.

For good reason.

His opinion of me is tainted by prejudice even before my arrival at his grandmother’s estate, and my first impression of him is just as abysmal.

His arrogance and icy demeanor make it clear that he’s the type of man who’s best handled at a distance.

Fortunately, space shouldn’t be an issue inside this Gilded Age mansion and its lush gardens. If I stick with the servants and he keeps to his sailboat and vintage Porsche, we should hardly cross paths at all. Unfortunately, at Rosethorn, I find that all roads eventually lead to Nicholas Hunt.

Sparks fly as we spar at the dinner table. Fighting words are flung in the shadows of the palatial halls.

We hang suspended in our hatred of one another, painfully oblivious to the heat and tension that build with every moment we’re left alone. We’re liable to kill one another, I think…right up until my eyes land on his lips and a new feeling grips hold of me: lust.

What’s worse?

He knows it.

They say you should keep your enemies close, but when Nicholas tightens his grip on my waist and draws me near, I’m not sure if it’s out of loathing or love.

One thing’s for sure—I intend to find out.

MY REVIEW

Love the One you Hate is another fave by R.S. Grey! I couldn't put it down from start to finish. I adored the characters, the setting and the sweet emotional moments mixed with the push and pull between Maren and Nicholas. Maren Mitchell is an orphaned young woman staying at a group home and is down on her luck when she meets Cornelia Cromwell. She gives Maren an opportunity that feels to good to be true, a job at her Estate in Newport Rhode Island. Intially the book has a very Cinderella feel to it, which I loved with Cornelia playing the part of fairy godmother. The more time Maren spends in the estate the more she is finding and discovering things about herself that she never knew. The growth in her character was a beautiful thing. The moment Nicholas and Maren meet he is a complete jerk to her. He had his mind made up about her and didnt give her much of a chance intitally. I understood it being the protective grandson he is but at the same time it was completely frustrating. R.S. Grey writes a slow burn romance like no other. There is so much tension, build up and heat between these two! Readers that love a good slow burn/enemies to lover romance should pick this one up.

About RAFE:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sawyer Bennett comes a new story in her Arizona Vengeance series…

I was living my dream until one phone call changed everything.

As the second line center for the Arizona Vengeance, my mind has been on one thing—helping my team bring home a championship. But that all changed when I found out my dad had cancer and only months to live. In that moment, nothing mattered more than getting home to North Carolina to be by his side. That meant asking for the unthinkable—a trade to the Carolina Cold Fury.

Now I’m home and when I’m not on the ice with my new team, I’m helping care for my dad. And in the midst of my grief, I find comfort from the one person I never expected.

Calliope Ramirez stole my heart at a very young age. The beautiful, smart, headstrong girl next door, she was my first… everything. She has never forgiven me for leaving her, believing that I chose hockey over a future together. What she doesn’t understand is that every decision I made was for her, and I’ve never given up hope that one day we’d be together again.

Watching my dad slip away is a harsh reminder of how short life can be, and having Calliope by my side makes me realize I was a damn fool before. That changes starting right now. Calliope Ramirez is mine and I’m not going to waste the second chance that I’ve been given.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Review

This was a perfect novella in the Arizona Vengeance series. We met Rafe in Dominik’s story. He has a family emergency to tend to back home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dominik pulls some major strings to send him home to play for the Carolina Cold Fury and be close to his ailing father.

It never ceases to amaze me this world and relationships that Sawyer Bennett has created within these players. It feels so real to me and the moment I opened the book I was emmersed until the last page.

I loved Rafe. His family story pulls at your heart strings and I adored his second chance love story with Calliope. They have a history and navigating their past was not easy and not perfect but I loved every moment, every word and couldn’t get enough.

Calliope has a beautiful heart. She has always stayed connected to Rafe’s family and has decisions to make about their future now that they find themselves back in each other’s lives. I loved their connection and found myself wiping a few tears away while I read.

This was another fantastic read in this series. 5 stars. I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excerpt:

“You look like a fairy sea princess,” I tell her truthfully.
She blinks, waterdrops fall.
I can’t help it... I start laughing.
Immediately, I snap my mouth shut and bite down hard on my tongue. “I’m sorry.”
Calliope blinks again and then her lips part.
I snicker.
Then snort.
Her beautiful eyes narrow on me, and the next thing I know, she’s sending a wave of nasty pond water right at me. It catches me full in the face, hits the back of my throat, and I choke on it. I deserve it.
When I clear my eyes, Calliope is bent over, laughing hysterically, her shoulder dipping down into the water. The sound of her lilting voice is music to my ears, and I don’t want it to stop.
So what’s a guy to do?
I splash a wall of water back at her. She sputters and looks stunned for only a moment before her palms slap at the pond’s surface, and I’m caught full in the face again.
Then it’s on.
We both go at each other, laughing and splashing. Calliope comes up to her knees. She wobbles in the sucking mud but gets better leverage on me. I’m entirely doused by wave after wave. I hold up my arms, trying to protect myself, and suddenly realize I need to go more on the offensive.
I lurch up, lunge at her, and grab her wrists to stop the inundation. She’s laughing so hard she barely has any strength left to fight against me. Her face is flushed despite the chill, and I can’t fucking help myself.
I crash my mouth down on hers, feel her freeze in shock for a moment, and then gobble down the sultry groan that warbles out of her. It heats me to my bones, and then we’re clawing at each other.
Grabbing, fisting clothing, attacking each other with our mouths. My hands make their way back to her face, intent on holding her still so I can consume everything she has to offer.
The kiss is atomic, off-the-charts hot, and filled with so much emotion I don’t know whether she’s coming at me with hate or something else.
Doesn’t matter.
I’m not stopping.
Then something comes over me...a calm that feels like a steadying hand. I slow myself, make an exploring and leisurely swipe of my tongue against hers, and she melts into my body. An arm around her waist, I pull both of us to a standing position, the water lapping at my lower legs. I haul her into me and kiss her with all the regret I’ve been carrying around in my soul for years—a sincere apology.
