Devney Perry writes the best small town romance and I absolutely loved the start of this new series!! The Edens are the founding family and well known in the town of Quincy, Montana. Winslow (Winnie) Covington is new and town and is also the new chief of police. She has a big job ahead of her and will be met with resistance from long time residents of Quincy. She is an ‘outsider’ to them and will have her work cut out for her proving herself. I loved Winnie. She is strong, independent, resilient, smart and witty. On her first night in town she hooks up with Griffin Eden, both thinking the other is just passing through town and will never run into each other again. Little does Winnie know who Griffin really is.
Griffin is a little bit arrogant and as broody as they come. He has a bit of a hardness to him that was a little off putting at first however throughout the course of the book I fell hard for him as his layers were peeled back and he reveals his adoring, caring, sweeter side. Griffin works on the family ranch. He works extremely hard. He is focused, driven and has no time for relationships or the distraction of a woman. Until Winnie changes that all for him.
I devoured this book in one sitting. I love a good enemies to lovers story and add in a suspenseful/mystery element set in a small town and I was glued to the pages of my kindle from beginning to end!
I highly recommend this one! I cannot wait for Juniper Hill next.
