REVIEW: BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN REDEMPTION BY CATHERINE COWLES

I adore the fake relationship trope and Catherine Cowles knocked this one out of the park! Emotional, heart-warming, steamy and suspenseful—Anna and Mason’s story has it all!— Samantha Young, New York Times bestselling author

Beautifully Broken Redemption, an emotional marriage of convenience romance filled with suspense from Catherine Cowles, is out now!

She’s hiding secrets.

For Anna, keeping her deepest scars hidden from the world has always been a necessity—from the bruises of her childhood to the mistake that nearly cost her everything. When tragedy strikes, Anna is left fighting to protect the only family she has left. And Mason will do anything to keep her and her loved ones safe—even if that means the ring of wedding bells.

But as a new spark ignites between them, someone is watching.

And they’ll do whatever it takes to snuff out that light for good.

Returning to Sutter Lake was like coming home. Catherine Cowles’ Sutter Lake Series is the series that made me fall in love with her writing and I adored returning to it. Mason and Anna’s story is beautiful, emotional and heart wrenching at times. They are both recovering from a difficult, painful past. After the devastating loss of her sister Anna is up for the fight of her life gaining custody of her niece and nephew over her wicked parents. Mason is willing to help her in anyway he can including an offer of a marriage of convenience. Despite his own demons Mason was truly a rock for Anna. I loved his patience and fierce protectiveness over her and the kids. Anna really struggled to let her guard down and allow herself to open up to Mason and let him in. It was a slow journey and despite Anna’s awful parents, and Mason’s sister they are able to build something so strong and unbreakable. Juliette, Mason’s sister was awful! I could not stand her. Her hatred for Anna was so over the top and unwarranted. My heart broke for Mason once he figured out how deeply routed her hatred for Anna was and he struggled to understand how the one person he could always count on hated the woman he is falling for. But as much as I detested Juliette it didn’t make me love this story any less and it added depth to the story and proves how strong Anna and Mason are for each other and the kids. They are a unique couple that had to overcome a lot to get to their happy ending but every moment was worth it. This book made me feel so much! Anger, frustration, heartache but also love, joy and happiness. If you haven’t read the previous books in the series you can 100 percent read this as standalone but as a series reader myself I highly recommend going back to the beginning of the series. Catherine Cowles is an incredibly talented writer and once you begin you will never want to leave Sutter Lake.
