REVIEW: Southern Sunshine by Natasha Madison

Release Date: September 7

Reed

I never wanted to be a cowboy, living in a small town was suffocating.

The military was my out.

I saw every place I ever wanted and everything that nightmares are made of.

Until I almost lost my life and then I ended up back home.

Hazel

Finding out that I was pregnant the night before I left for college changed everything. I left that small town and vowed to never return.

When my grandfather died, I had no choice but to go back home.

The plan was just for two weeks.

I thought it would be quick and easy, until he was standing at the back door asking questions.

Secrets never stay secrets for long in this town.

REVIEW

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Southern Sunshine is another fantastic story in Natasha Madison’s beloved Southern Series and is one of my favourites. It is sweet, emotional, heart warming and beautifully written. It is the kind of story that pulls you in from the first page and you won’t be able to put it down once you start reading.

Reed, son to Casey and younger brother to Quinn has often felt stifled by small town life. Growing up he often felt compared to his brother and father and was desperate to find his own identity and accomplishments when he enlists in the military. The night before he leaves he and his best friend Hazel share a night of passion and go their separate ways. He to the military and she off to college.

Six years later Reed is injured in the line of duty and heads home to rehabilitate. At the same time Hazel has just received the devastating news that her grandfather has passed away and she must return home to look after his affairs. With 5 year old Sofia in tow, neither Reed or Hazel are prepared for what awaits them back home as it will completely change the course of their lives.

From the moment Reed and Hazel cross paths again their connection and chemistry is as if no time has passed. I loved every single moment shared between them. Their reconnection is a slow and delicious burn and so worth the wait! The moment Reed meets Sofia and learns he is her father he doesn’t want to miss a single minute with her and my heart could barely take the sweet and tender moments they shared. Total swoon!

If you love small town and second chance romance with all the feels you don’t want to miss this incredible story. Highly recommend!
